PTA
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Welcome to Statham CP School Parents and Teachers Association ! We can’t wait to meet you and hope that your child has a very happy start. Every parent or guardian at our school is automatically a member of the PTA and we’d love you to get involved.
Who are we?
A group friendly of friendly parents from across the school give a little time to help enhance the experience and education of all children at our school. Everyone is welcome and we organise a range of events and activities that bring together pupils, families and the wider community. Some people come to our meetings, others just help at our events – there is a role for everyone and we appreciate any time you can give, no matter how small.
In the last few years we’ve been able to provide school with bike shelters, PE equipment, dressing up clothes, a new reading scheme, artists in residence and subsidise trips to name a few - but it isn’t just about fundraising. Our events are great fun and everyone is welcome.
How will we contact you?
We prefer to stay in contact by email – please let us know your email address and we’ll add you to the mailing list for our newsletter. It comes out a couple of times a term and you can unsubscribe at any time. If you don’t have an email address, let us know and we will make sure you always get a paper copy.
Consent for activities and events
So that your child can attend our popular events such as the regular school discos, we need you to complete our consent forms. We also ask you to confirm your agreement for your child to be photographed for media or group purposes. Every year we arrange for our fantastic Christmas Nativity and Carol Concerts to be professionally filmed and make the DVDs available to purchase. Without your consent, we are unable to film these events.
We will NEVER give your details to anyone else and keep all data in a secure locked room in school. You will always need to give separate consent for activities taking place off school premises (such as Dickensian parade) and will need to accompany children taking part.
Helping our funds go further
Finally, if you pay income tax our school can claim an extra 25p back from the government for every £1 you donate if you fill in and return the attached gift aid form. Every penny helps when fundraising to support our school and there is no need to make a donation at this time. For higher rate tax payers, any donations to our PTA can be included in your tax return to claim back another 20% for yourself. We are happy to provide receipts for businesses and individuals to use in their tax returns.
We look forward to meeting you and wish your child every success and happiness in our school.
